Curriculum

We offer the following subjects at our Centre, although they are not taught to all year groups.

Each week a group of pupils go off site with members of the youth service for activities which include, climbing, abseiling, mountain bike riding and swimming.

Pupils in years 8 and 9 are offered a curriculum as close to their home school curriculum as possible with additional work on social skills.  Pupils are taught in small groups, supported by two adults, with a strong emphasis on learning techniques which will help them to ‘Get it Right’ in their home school.  These packages are time limited, usually half a term, after which pupils are supported back into a full time placement at their home school

Pupils in year 10 and 11 may be offered a mixed package which might involve some time at the centre, some at their home school, some at college and a work experience placement.  These packages are designed to meet individual needs
